I recently purchased the new Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows that were released on February, 10th, 2017. I purchased the bundle set, so I got all ten of the new matte eyeshadows. I’m so impressed with Devinah Cosmetics matte eyeshadow formula that I couldn’t help getting all of the new ones. I reviewed and swatched my first set of ten matte eyeshadows in my first installment of my review series on Devinah Cosmetics. In my first post, I also give a little background information about this amazing indie brand and provide information on their products. I’ll put a link to it down below.
A Little More About Devinah Cosmetics
All of Devianh Cosmetics eyeshadows and highlighters are hand blended, hand poured, and hand pressed by the owner of this indie company, DeAndra, and her husband. They have over 100 different colors to offer in a variety of finishes ranging from matte to intense glitter to duochrome and everything in between. Devinah Cosmetics in a cruelty free brand and many of their products are vegan. All products are labeled vegan or not on their website. I will let you know in the description of the shadow if one is not vegan.
Devinah Cosmetics eyeshadows are pressed mineral eyeshadows, so they are soft and you will experience some kick up with them if you are not careful. Some of their shadows may also be a bit dusty or chalky feeling, but that is due to the fact that they are pressed mineral shadows and mineral shadows are usually in a loose form. None of Devinah Cosmetics products contain talc, parabans, or gluten, which is totally awesome!
Like always, I will provide photos of swatches of each eyeshadow, describe each of them, and give my honest opinion and thoughts on each one. Ok, let’s just dive right into this swatch and review of the ten new Devinah Cosmetics Matte eyeshadows.
New Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows
Lucretia is such a gorgeous color. It is a deep brick red. The pigmentation with this shadow is amazing and it blends very smoothly. It blends out really well to create a deep red smokey eye. Lucretia can be used all over the lid, to darken the outer v, and to line the upper and lower lash lines. Additionally, it can be a crease shade on deeper skin tones and for darker eye looks. I really love this shadow.
This shadow is a bright red with orange undertones. It is not vegan. Ilithyia has great pigmentation and blends out well. A little of this shadow will go a long way. Ilithyia smoothly blends out by itself or with other shadows so is a perfect crease shade. It is also good for all over the lid and lining you lower lash line. Ilithyia is a beautiful and bold light red.
Sura is a gorgeous orange with red undertones. I would almost call it a bright coral color. It is super pigmented and it is buttery smooth. When packed on the lid it is a pretty intense (but beautiful!) color, but it blends out incredibly well. Sura is perfect for all over the lid, a transition shade, and for lining the lower lash line. It really is a beautiful shadow.
This shadow is beautiful and a must have. Nemesis is a darkened burgundy with warm brown undertones. It is similar to the color of cherry cola. This shadow is so buttery smooth with excellent pigmentation. It blends really well into other shadows and also blends out by itself beautifully. Nemesis is great for dark smokey eyes, all over the lid, for darkening the outer v, and for lining the upper and lower lash lines. For deeper skin tones or a darker eye look, Nemesis will also work well as a crease shade.
This shadow is such a gorgeous color for dark and dramatic looks. It is a dark and vampy burgundy plum. Desma is extremely pigmented and incredibly smooth. It is opaque when you apply it to your eyes, but it can blend out really well to create a smokey eye effect. This shadow is perfect for smokey eyes, all over the lid, to darken the outer v, and for lining the upper and lower lash line. Like Nemesis, Desma is an excellent crease shade for deeper skin tones or darker eye looks.
This shadow is one of the reasons I ended up purchasing the bundle set. It was one of the first new Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows to sell out on the release day. It is an unique color and so beautiful! Courtney is a combination of the colors of pea soup and mustard. It has excellent pigmentation and it is very smooth. This shadow is perfect as a transition shade and for all over the lid. It is a must have.
This shadow is one of the firsts that caught my eye. I love oranges! Naevia is a muted orange with yellow undertones. It is really pretty. Like all the other matte shadows by Devinah Cosmetics, it has amazing pigmentation. It is opaque, but can blend out to a more shear coverage, which makes this shadow quite versatile. Naevia is perfect as a transition shade, a crease shade, all over the lid, and for lining the lower lash line. It could also be he center of a more colorful halo eye.
This shadow is AMAZING! Crixus is a very unique brown with olive yellow undertones. This shadow is so pigmented and buttery smooth. It applies really well to your eye and blends out very well. Crixus is buildable so you can make it sheer or completely opaque. I love this color. Mixed with Courtney it makes a mustardy color. Crixus is great as a transition shade. It is not as warm as a traditional peachy transition color nor is it as neutral as a beige or taupe color. Crixus is in between and quite unique. Besides a transition color, Crixus can be used as an all over lid shade or along the lower lash line. This is another must have in this set.
Seppia is a medium tone gray with slight blue undertones. Like the others, this one is very pigmented and smooth. It is opaque when applied to your eyes and it blends out well and easily. Seppia is a great color for all over the lid, the center of a halo eye, and a transition shade.
Even though in the pan Seppia and Gaia appear very similar, when they are swatched they are actually quite different. Gaia is a light gray with blue undertones. It almost appears silver and the blue is more pronounced in Gaia than Seppia. It’s a very pretty color. Like all the other new Devinah Cosmetics matte eyashadows, Gaia has excellent pigmentation and it buttery smooth to the touch. It is opaque when applied and it blends out beautifully. This shadow is great for highlighting your brow bone, as a transition shade, for the center of a halo eye, and for all over the lid. Another use for Gaia, if you’re adventurous with your eyelooks, is as an untraditional inner eye highlight.
Once again I have fallen in love. The ten new Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows are amazing. Each of them are so buttery smooth to the touch and so unbelievably pigmented. They apply to your lid with the same pigmentation you get when they are swatched, and they still blend out seamlessly. The colors are beautiful and can create neutral eye looks as well as more dark and dramatic looks. It is best to use all ten shadows with a light hand in order to minimize any kick up or fallout. They are mineral eyeshadows and therefore are super soft, but this does not effect the high quality of these shadows. DeAndra really hit it out of the park with these ones. The new Devinah Cosmetics Matte Eyeshadows are ones you definitely want to get your hands one!
