For this Goth and Girly Glam look I was dying to try out some of the new goodies I had just purchased and to use a couple of products from one of my favorite Indie brands. First and foremost, I wanted to use F.A.I.R. Beauty Cosmetics Limited Edition Eyeshadow in Witch’s Brew. It is a purplish fuchsia with a violet shift. Just gorgeous. Then I decided to use my new Melt Cosmetics Gunmetal Stack to add some sparkle. I was feeling a little glam and a little goth that day, so I wanted a highlighter that would glow to the moon and a dark lip. To achieve this, I chose Devinah Cosmetics Face and Body Highlighter in Moon Kiss and Lip Glossaries in Raven. (If either of these products appeal to you, I will include a Devinah Cosmetics discount code near the end of the post.) I sat down to do my makeup with a want to be creative. I’m pretty happy with the results of my playtime.
Here is a step-by-step of how I created this Goth and Girly Glam look.
Makeup Tutorial for Goth and Girly Glam
I begin by moisturizing my face with a small amount of Josie Maran 100% Pure Argan Oil. Then I use ItCosmetics Bye Bye Under Eye Full Coverage Anti-Aging Waterproof Concealer in Neutral Medium to cover my under eye bags. As the base for my face, I use Pixi Beauty H2O Skin Tint Tinted Face Gel in No. 1 Cream. I always use my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush to apply and blend out my foundation. The next step in my routine is to conceal any acne spots and finish correcting my under eye region with Pacifica’s Transcendent Concentrated Correcting Concealer in Light. Then I set the concealer using RCMA No Color Powder.
I do not contour my face unless I’m doing a creative look for a challenge or Halloween. For every day I just put on some blush and a little highlighter. With this look I wanted more of an extreme highlighter, mainly because I absolutely LOVE Devinah Cosmetics Face and Body Highlighter in Moon Kiss. It is described as “a beautiful touch of greige -like the moon light kiss on the clearest night”. It can be used for a subtle highlight, but it is gorgeous as an intense highlight. I applied this highlighter on the bridge of my nose, my cheek bones and temples, and my cupid’s bow. For this look I used my every day, staple blush, which is Tarte Cosmetics Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Blush in Exposed. I apply my blush using the Real Techniques Blush Brush.
I always use Pixi Beauty Eye Bright Primer when I do my makeup. Place it on your lid and blend it up to your brow for a smooth transition. To begin I used Kat Von D MetalMatte Eyeshadow palette for the brow bone highlight and transition shade. Place Bone under your eyebrow, focusing on the area below your arch. Next, use Silk as a transition shade right above your crease and slightly into your crease. From Melt Cosmetics Gunmetal Stack use Assimilate in your crease and blend it up slightly into Silk. Then use F.A.I.R. Beauty Cosmetics Limited Edition Eyeshadow in Witch’s Brew all over your lid. Take out the Gunmetal Stack again and use Gun Metal in your outer V. Blend it into Assimilate so there is a smooth transition. Use Harsh Stone White in the inner corner of your eye, slightly blending it into Witch’s Brew, and also as an inner corner highlight.
Line your upper waterline and bottom lash line with Beauty for Real I-Line 24/7 Waterproof Eyeliner in Magic Black. Bring the liner down below your bottom lash line a little. Take Gun Metal on a pencil brush and drag it along your bottom lash line making sure to blend out the eyeliner. Then take Witch’s Brew and place it below Gun Metal and blend it up. Take the same black eyeliner and apply it to your top lash line from the outside corner to about the middle of your eye. Make the line slightly wider at the outside and blend it right into your lash line where it stops in the middle of your eye. Take Gun Metal on a pencil brush once again and smoke out the liner with it. I do the same mascara routine every time I do my makeup. I start with Pacifica Dream Big Mascara and apply it using the volumizing brush first. After it dries I use the lengthening brush to add another layer. Once this second layer dries I use Blinc Amplified Mascara as my final coat.
Growing up I rarely ever used lipsticks, but when I did it was always a black lipstick. Then I went through a time when I never used any lip products other than lip balms. Over this past year I started to dive into the world of lipsticks again. Now you will frequently see me wearing a nude lippie, usually a matte lipstick. But, when I want to be a little more dramatic I tend to grab for a dark lippie. This day I was really feeling black glossy lips. So, I used Devinah Cosmetics Lip Glossaries in Raven. Love her formula. It’s a very pigmented gloss that actually sets like a chapstick and it will stay on your lips for a couple hours before needing to reapply. Well, of course you will need to if you eat any food during that time because the Lip Glossaries are not transfer proof.
